Scott Sklar: It’s a Cellular Economy

Scott Sklar: Then the other issue is the cellular economy. Uh, you know, when I walked around, I had one of the earliest cell phones that were the size of a wine bottle and had a big 30 pound battery off my belt, and I’d walk around.
We only had three towers in DC, Washington, DC, the capital of the United States of America, and the reception was crappy and people are saying. Why, what are you doing with that thing? And I go, well, it’s pretty cool. And you know when more people buy it, they’re gonna miniaturize it and they’re gonna put up more towers.
It’s gonna be amazing. Virtually everyone, said You’re an idiot. That’s never gonna happen.
We went from copper wire to fiber optics, solar satellites, and cell towers. We we lose cell towers every couple of months. Did your cell service stop? No. The other cell towers nearby triangulate around it. We lose solar satellites every three to four years. Do you have a problem? No.
The other solar satellites triangulate around it and we’ve created basically an absolute foolproof proof web of communication, and then we built on top of that a decade later, the internet, which relies on that. But data centers, we lose them every four years. Does the internet crash down? No. They triangulate around it. Of course they rely on this cellular and satellite system I described.
We are now working on ways where, yes, we’ll have a more advanced wired system, but we will have w wireless systems that are close to the end users or along the grid that can sustain critical functions no matter what happens. Just like cellular, just like the internet.
